Sensational win for Limewood

The world of chess in Leeds is still reverberating from our sensational victory by 3 points to 1 over the high-flying Leeds B team. Both team captains were shell-shocked by the amazing and totally unexpected result.

Following his team’s defeat, the Leeds captain, John Light, ritually disembowelled himself. His last words were, “I’m gutted”.

Limewood captain, Paul May, was carried shoulder-high by his triumphant team out to the carpark before being locked in the boot of his own car, where he was discovered by the Fox and Grapes landlord at closing time.
