It was a rough night for Limewood teams this evening.
The ‘A’ team were up against the league leaders Rose Forgrove ‘D’ and suffered their first defeat of the season. They lost by 4 games to 1. Bob Maltby produced the only win.
The ‘B’ team didn’t fare any better. They were away to a strong team in the shape of Pudsey B. They lost by 4½ to ½. Barry Fulthorpe was the sole scorer.
On the plus side, however, we welcomed another new member. Eric Brodie was playing his first match for the ‘A’ team. Welcome to the club, Eric!
The Pudsey match was at a new venue. The Pudsey club, recently evicted from its longstanding home at the Halfway House, now meets at Farsley Liberal Club, 166 Old Road, Farsley. Our roving reporter, Deston Govesh, has sent us this quick assessment:
“Farsley Liberal Club is quite large and we were upstairs, next to the snooker room (some serious games going on there). It was a little noisy as one side of the bar opened onto the room we were playing in, but apart from that it’s a good venue. I got parked right outside. Pudsey A were also playing at home so there were 10 league games going on and a nice atmosphere.”
