Three match-dates in and 7 of our 10 teams have dipped their toes into the turbulent waters of the new season. (Our 3 Arjay teams play their first matches this coming Wednesday.)
In the main league, Division 1, our top team had a torrid time of it. Outgraded on all 5 boards, they had to concede all games to a ferocious Moortown team whose top 3 players were all graded over 180.
In Division 3 our B team had a clear 4 -1 win. Just a pity it was against our C team. Our D team beat Rose Forgrove E by 3 to 2.
In round 1 of the Rapidplay league Limewood beat Alwoodley R2 by 4 to 2 – an encouraging start.
In the 3-board handicap Mini league our 2nd team beat Rose Forgrove’s 6th team by 3 points to 2 while our 1st team lost by a similar score to Leeds’s solitary Mini entry.
