Round 3 of the Mini League saw our Limewood teams finally get their boots on and climb off the bottom of the Mini League table.
The M2 team fared best. Star of the show was Chris Tatham who was on the wrong end of a 62 grade-points difference at Board 1: a 115-grader facing a 177-er. Despite being under heavy attack most of the game he fought on and was finally offered a draw after 2½ tense hours . This helped the team to a surprise 3 to 2 points win over Rose Forgrove M1.
The M1 team were playing another Forgrove team, their M4. The grades were pretty evenly balanced and so was the result: a win from P May junior and a draw from P May senior giving a drawn match.
Not a bad evening’s work!
