Let’s hope we can use that headline many more times this season.
This was real cause for celebration – our first win of the season in a match that was actually played. We played Leeds B at the Fox & Grapes and won the match by 3½ to 1½. Our points came from wins by Paul May and Steve Kelley, a walkover win-by-default from Steve Hodgson and a draw by Andrew Pollard.
This was Andrew’s debut game for the club but he is no newcomer to Leeds chess. He is returning after a gap of several years. In his previous incarnation he played for Pudsey, way back around 2007-09. Welcome to the club, Andrew!
