Limewood member John Light was among the prizewinners at the British Rapidplay Championships this weekend. He won against fierce competition, including from two of his Limewood clubmates – no favours given or asked.
Admittedly it wasn’t a very big prize and he did have to share it but it was well-earned.
The Championships were played at a new venue this year – Temple Moor School in Leeds, off the Selby Road. The change appeared to be a generally popular one.
There were 11 rounds over the 2 days. Time allowance per player in each game was 20 minutes plus a bonus of 10 seconds each move made.
