29 April 2020
It was our 3rd online evening and our 2nd club rapidplay tournament, this time with the benefit of participation from Skegness, the club we played last week. It was a 6-round rapidplay with 15 minutes per player on the clock.
The joint winners were Tom Leah and John Grasham with 5 points from 6 and judged equal by the tie-breaking criteria. (Last time they were placed 2nd and 1st respectively.)
Paul May was in 3rd place, also with 5 wins but losing out on the tie-break calculation.
The technology performed better than on the first such evening and at first sight it doesn’t look as though any games were wrecked through dodgy connections.
Details of next week’s evening will be added below here as soon as available.
Wed 6 May at 7 pm : 6-round Swiss tournament – friendly members of other clubs welcome to join in. Venue: chess..com
Sunday 10 May at 3 pm: friendly match against LEEDS UNIVERSITY.
30 mins per player per game; play 2 games against same opponent, one as White, the other as Black. If you wish to play in this match please let Paul May know by 8 pm on Monday 4 May.
