Mini League
Barry Fulthorpe made a welcome return to form in his Mini League game tonight. He beat an opponent graded some 26 points higher to give our M2 team, with handicap points, a draw against Leeds M2.
Barry (aka Bigfoot) has recovered well from his condition at the British Rapidplays in November where he had to be assigned a dedicated table at which he lounged in state, feet up, like a reclining Buddha receiving tribute from allcomers.
Did you hear? ……………… Paul’s car broke down. So Barry offered him a toe.
Our other Mini team, M1, meantime had a walkover. Their scheduled opponents (Leeds M1) defaulted, so our team collected 3½ points without lifting a chesspiece.
Rapidplay League
Late news: Moortown R2 v Limewood R1: Great news from the Rapidplay front: a brilliant win over Moortown by 4½ to 1½. Tom Leah won both his games. Paul May had 1 win and 1 loss and Robert Moneagle scored a win and a draw. After 3 of the 5 rounds Limewood is riding high in the Rapidplay League.
