1 May 2019
Limewood have reached the Final of the Arjay Trophy for the first time in our 5-year history. Our 3-player team beat University A with wins for Paul Johnson and Paul May. (Match was played on 30 April.)
A sad outcome for our Team B in the last match of the season in Division 2 of the main league. Their loss on 1 May to University A leaves them adrift in the relegation zone. It must be said though that the University team would have been an exceedingly hard nut to crack – they have won all their matches this season and finish on maximum points.
Team A finished their season in fine style with a win against the league leaders, Moortown A. Wins from Tom Leah, Paul Johnson and Paul May and a draw from Robert Moneagle leave Team A in a comfortable mid-table position. Tom Leah’s win against 192-rated Peter Rooney can be played through here.
Down in Division 3 our C and D teams both lost their final matches.
Still to be played: the Arjay final, the final round of the Mini and Rapidplay competitions and the last 2 rounds of the Ellis/Appleby ‘individuals’ trophies.
